By now you should have arrived in Caer Aeslyn. I’m sorry Travok couldn’t wait for your arrival, but if he had waited to explain we would have gone into the wrong branch. Now then, if this is the one where Ocanar is already activated, then you needn’t worry about Mundo interfering in the grand scheme of things. He will be far too busy with the threat to the north to march on the west, meaning Mundi won’t perceive him as an immediate problem and lay waste to the lands. It was always Mundo that started the real trouble, that envious cur. If only they had been born in the other order. That branch is so beautiful, it almost makes me weep.

If it’s the one where the gnomes actually agreed to a peace treaty we have a problem. In this case you must try to prevent Mundi or his lieutenants from reaching the fields of Scourgefaust. I’m sure I don’t need to explain why. There are several different possibilities of reaching this goal; I won’t bore you with the details.

Now then, the more immediate issue is of course rescuing Pesh and Miriyala. You can find them at the former Ssarpustina estate at the Ssottovoçe oasis. It’s easy to find. First go to Sachar, and then it’s just about due north-east. It was one of the first estates destroyed when Caer Aeslyn counter invaded in the third war. Or was it the second? One of them. Maybe both. Or possibly neither and it’s still standing. Stop asking questions!

Whatever happens, do not let either Pesh or Miriyala “die”. You will need both for the troubles ahead, if for different reasons. Don’t tell them this though, or it won’t come to pass. Just pretend you like them or something. Or that there’s a bounty for their rescue, doesn’t matter what you cook up.

Then a last request, albeit a simple one: please bring Travok an apple. “We are going to Llachlun, to thank the King for sending the help in defending the harbor. The dwarfs are our friends. You should go visit them as well some day!”
