Book of Blood
[Dieses Buch ist aus einer parallelen Welt herübergebracht worden. Es ist daher ungewiss, ob sein Inhalt vollständig zutreffend ist.]
Centuries ago, the existence of the Ethereal Nexus was discovered by intrepid explorers in the mountain range now know as the Hazepeaks. Dormant at the time, they sold the location to the highest bidder.
The procurer fed the information up the foodchain of his Lord, a young red dragon named Shadar Logoth. Ambitious and eager to carve out its place in the world, it experimented without regards to safety. The ensuing catastrophe that caused the Nation of Mocny to collapse in a matter of hours is now known as "The Blighting".
After Arcalis Dacra found out about the existence of the Ethereal Nexus, he realised how the mere existance of such an artifact would radically shift the balance of power. Every mage at his disposal was retasked to study the magical patterns that emanated from the portal. Every professor, every student was given an individual piece of the puzzle to figure out, with only him having access to the bigger picture. Through careful reconstruction of the resonance, he managed to construct a similar Nexus in the secret base under Azoicstrum, a city built purely as a decoy for the Nexus project.
However, Arcalis was attacked and killed, and the academy destroyed before they got a chance to deploy the nexus.
The technology of Nexus construction was destroyed when the only being capable of assembling them, Arcalis Dacra, was killed. However, Loganar Logoth was able to piece together the prime component by visiting alternate dimensions where the fate of the duel of the dragons was reversed. The Dacra Dynasty was the key. Unfortunately, the only surviving member in this reality was the old and nearly dying Yonci. Shadar spent years in stabilizing her enough through blood magic to spawn a hatchling, hoping the use of his own genes as a sire would suffice.
A pact with Ocanar of Iris was forged, due to the prime defensible location near Scourgefaust.
Fabrication of the Divine Nexus began after several decades under the supervision of Zidden, once Posetine Dacra was of sufficient age to support the magic needed for the construction of the Nexus.
Once the construction and subsequent testing of the Divine Nexus was complete, only the Soul Nexus was still needed to complete the Concurrence of the Prime Ascension.
A stable supply of soul power was needed, and thus the explosive tempers of the Fire Giants and Elementals of Cindercrest were a perfect fit.
Convincing the rulers was easy, due to their lack of experience in matters of state, having known mostly war and strife. Once again Posetine Dacra was unwittingly used for the construction of what the Cindercrestians know as the "Heart of Rage".
[There are various Nexus specific spells in the addendum. One specific about the 'Concurrence of the Prime Ascension' that is said to be in the second volume.]
